Before joining Wycombe Sound Mick was a driving instructor and utility worker and Soldier.

Wednesday: Clare Sherman

I have always lived in the local area. I have spent most of my working life in social care, but now can be found in a health food shop. I have worked on many radio stations, including hospital radio RSLs, etc , but my time this is the first time I have got a sense that there are any listeners! I like going to gigs, nature, all animals (especially my cat, Lucky!). All of these things get a mention on my show!

Thursday: John Murphy

John started broadcasting at a hospital radio in Ascot and has always enjoyed spending time rooting out music he's not familiar with and hospital radio gave him the added bonus of showcasing his discoveries to a captive audience. Looking to his retirement he decided that he'd like to take up the microphone once again. Originally intending to volunteer behind the scenes at Wycombe Sound he was easily persuaded to take on a show for the station.

On a Thursday Afternoon with a focus on information about financial wellbeing and provides an opportunity for local business to showcase their products or services. Listeners can also sharpen their brains by joining in with the weekly brain training exercises whether that’s Word Hoodwink (how much do you know about the English language), Maths chain (testing your mental arithmetic) or Word Cross (solve cryptic clues to find answers). We also feature 45 at 45, celebrating songs originally released as 45rpm singles played at 45 minutes past each hour. At 3pm we take a break and play Sotto Voce (Italian for without words) or more simply an instrumental track to give listeners a chance to take some time out and refresh themselves. All the music played during the show is personally curated to ensure we have a breadth of music to suit a wide range of listeners, you never know you might hear something you’ve never heard before!

Friday: Chris Phillips

25 years at BBC Radio Oxford and Radio Berkshire, producing and presenting daytime and weekend programmes, including Children in Need. Director of Jackie Palmer Stage School in Wycombe. Chris has the extensive knowledge and experience required to ensure high production standards for our broadcast output.
