Bucks Students’ Union president Tamsin Grainger has told Wycombe Sound that as well as providing free meals to school children during half term they have also raised almost seven-thousand-pounds to support similar schemes and food banks.

School aged children can receive a hot meal at lunchtime by visiting Bucks New University on Queen Alexandra Road between 12 and 2 until Friday. Hills Cafe in Micklefield is also offering free meals for kids this week and have pledged to check that parents are ‘okay too’.
Meanwhile, Bucks Council have directed vulnerable families with children who are eligible for free school meals to contact their ‘Helping Hand’ team to find out how to access the support that is available during half term.
In a statement on their website the council said they’ve already spent nearly two-hundred-thousand-pounds on food for families in need and have a further one-hundred-and-twenty-thousand committed to schemes to help Bucks residents grow their own food and learn how to cook healthily on a low budget.
