High Wycombe’s Christmas Light Switch On 2021

It’s just two weeks until the town’s Christmas Lights are switched on and it’s going to be a star-studded treat for all the family!

We will be live from the light switch on along with the full cast of The Wycombe Swan’s ‘Peter Pan’ Pantomime – including Jake Wood (Eastenders/Strictly) and Jake Canuso (Benidorm) and singing to the crowds during the event Wycombe Wanderers Manager, Gareth Ainsworth!

The Christmas Light Switch On event kicks off from 3 pm with LIVE performances on the High Street stage, including Jackie Palmer’s Stage School & the BNU Swans Cheerleaders, plus a mouth-watering Food Truck Market, festive freebies, children’s rides & entertainment, over 25 Christmas Gift Stalls and of course Father Christmas

Keeping with the theme of this year’s Panto there will be a ‘Peter Pan Parade’ – led by Captain Hook’s very own 12ft Wooden Ship – will be starting its journey at 5.30 pm, departing from The Swan Theatre, and sailing its way down the High Street. Featuring 100+ ‘Tinkerbells’ & ‘Pirates’ from Widmer End School, Marsh Infant School & Manor Farm Junior School

On the main stage from 5.15pm, performances from 10 local dance, music & drama group before the ‘Switch On Ceremony’ at 6.45pm our Celebrity ship will dock in Frogmoor, and the famous faces will head for the stage – including High Wycombe’s esteemed Mayor Cllr Andrea Baughan & Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council Zahir Mohammed

The event is being organised by HWBidCo, chief cheerleaders for High Wycombe town centre. Chief Executive Melanie Williams commented; “It’s fantastic to be able to bring our traditional Christmas Light Switch On Event back to High Wycombe this year, and we’re so pleased to have so many local businesses, performance groups & organisations involved. It’s a real community ‘feel good’ event and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the town centre on 18th November to kick off the festive season in style – it’s going to be a great day!
