Wycombe Sound is delighted to announce that the station has been nominated for 3 awards at this year’s Community Radio Awards.
Hoping to make it gold this year in the Best Male and Female categories are Rob L’Eperance and Pippa Sawyer who have both previously won multiple silvers in these categories. Wycombe Sound is also nominated in the Special Coverage: 2019 General Elections Coverage for our election coverage before and during Election Night.
Programme Director Luke Davis said: “I’m thrilled that Wycombe Sound has been nominated again in this year’s Community Radio Awards. 2020 has been a challenging one for us all, so I’m so glad that the team has something to celebrate!”
Martin Steers, awards chair, said: “This year has been a challenge for the sector, but community radio stations have responded by stepping up engagement with their local communities, with more programming and innovative presenters across the country broadcasting from home.“It is clear to see from this, that passionate presenters, volunteers, and staff are really there for their audiences. These local radio stations are truly at the heart of their communities.”
The awards ceremony is taking place virtually this year, on December 12th. It will be streamed live on the Community Radio Awards YouTube and Facebook page from 7pm.
