Wycombe Sound has another successful year at The Community Radio Awards

High Wycombe’s radio station has scooped five medals at this year’s Community Media Awards.

Wycombe Sound was nominated in five categories at the annual awards ceremony – and came away with five medals.

The station was honoured with silver in the Station of the Year category, while Sunday evening show The Roots Collective picked up gold for the Specialist Music Show of the Year award.

Rob L’Esperance got silver in the Male Presenter of the Year category while Drivetime presenter and station manager Luke Davis won bronze for Volunteer of the Year.

The radio station’s Local Radio Marketing Group scooped bronze in the innovation category.

Programme director and breakfast presenter Philippa Sawyer said: “I’m immensely proud of the Wycombe Sound team and would like to thank our listeners, sponsors and advertisers for their generous support.

“The media landscape is changing and local radio services are more important than ever. Onwards and upwards.”
